PRENATAL & POSTPARTUM SESSIONS
Favored Life Fitness has added prenatal and postpartum yoga to the regular schedule. Prenatal yoga classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:25 p.m. with Arti and, beginning next week, Thursday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with Sarah. The prenatal sessions focus on breathing, meditation and preparing the body for labor and delivery.
Postpartum yoga sessions with Sarah begin next Thursday at 10:45 a.m. The 75-minute class is for new moms who have been cleared for light exercise; more challenging poses will be offered for those who are further along in the postpartum recovery process. New moms may come solo or bring along babies who are able to stay near mom (typically those not yet walking).
In addition to the classes that are specifically prenatal or postpartum, we have two all-level yoga sessions: Tuesday evening's Mindfulness Movements class is perfect for relaxation, stretching and preparing for a great night's sleep. Arti teaches Mindfulness Movements from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday afternoons from 1 to 2:15 Sarah will lead an all-level flow.
All sessions are $15 and occur in the Favored Life Group Fitness Studio located at 38 Main Street. To register, create a profile in Fitli and choose a package that best suits your needs. You may purchase individual sessions, 10-class packs or monthly options that include both limited and unlimited sessions. Annual memberships with discounts on special programming and merchandise, which includes a maternity fitness line from Beyond Yoga, are available. Please note that all sessions require grip socks, which are available for purchase in the studio.
