Beginning February 19, Favored Life will host a 10-week Prenatal Health & Fitness program dedicated to equipping mothers-to-be. Three evenings a week for 10 weeks, a maximum of 10 women will come together to improve their physical fitness for birth through specialized breathing exercises, prenatal mat Pilates and prenatal yoga sessions, and mentally prepare for labor, delivery and the fourth trimester with the help of some local experts. Each week, special guests will speak to the women about specific lifestyle elements that will help prepare the women for the months ahead.

Jean Jamele, MSN, RN, a board-certified lactation consultant, will speak to what women can expect during pregnancy, answering questions and debunking myths. The director of perinatal and parenting/childbirth education at Hunterdon Medical Center will also explain the fourth trimester, how to manage the early weeks at home and the importance of infant cues.

Dr. Elizabeth Pearce, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist whose expertise in mental preparedness coupled with her experience as a doula make an incredible combination when speaking to women about the importance of being mentally prepared for labor, delivery and the fourth trimester.

A panel of local moms who have had babies within the last two years will be present to speak to their experiences as stay-at-home-moms, working moms, traveling moms, first-time moms and moms in round two. No question is off limits! These women are honest, direct, hilarious and heartfelt when sharing personal experiences and advice.

Tracy Spiaggia is an integrative health coach who encourages others to live healthier lifestyles. She will present participants with tools to prepare now for the new life stages ahead: managing chaos in the home, meal planning and preparation and the importance of self-care and accountability.

The sessions, limited to 10 participants, will run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30. The cost for 30 sessions over the 10-week period is $540 ($18 per session), available in two automatic-billing payments. To register for the Prenatal Health & Fitness program, please click here
